Ickenham appears in the Domesday Book three times under the name 'Ticheham'.

Today Ickenham is a suburban area, centred on an old village in Greater London, and is part of the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Reminders of our history can still be found - the centre of the village is graced by the 14th century St Giles' church, a village pond and a village pump. The Grade 1 listed 17th century Jacobean mansion Swakeleys House still stands and is open to the residents every two years for the Ickenham Festival.

Please go to the Welcome to Ickenham page for more information about Ickenham and links to other organisations providing services to the residents of Ickenham.

The Ickenham  Residents’ Association was formed in March 1924, mainly for the purpose of protecting the interests of the people of Ickenham

The work done by the Association  has obviously changed over the past 87 years, but our main concern is still to maintain Ickenham as a green and pleasant village in which to live.

Today 2/3rd of the households in Ickenham are members. To learn more about the history and activities of the Association and how  to become a member please go to the About Us page.
