Ickenham gradually got back to normal after the War. In 1948 Middlesex County Council took over Ickenham Hall and opened it as a Community Centre. Ickenham Art Society grew out of this.

At St. Giles Church a Toc-H lamp and an illuminated book recording the names of those who fell in World War II were placed on the sill of the Cromwell Window.

Ickenham & Swakeleys Horticultural Society was formed; it grew from the Allotments Society.

Building began again; Church Farm - opposite St. Giles Church - was demolished to make way for more shops.
